First Blog

Hello to all of you out there in blog-land. This will be the first blog for Total Resource Staffing. Although I have done a small amount of blogging myself, it has been on a personal level and never for a company. Total Resource Staffing has never had a blog and so I thought I would give it a go. There will be a new post every other day, not including the weekends. I mean, come on, everyone loves their weekends!! I will also be welcoming feedback, comments, suggestions, and anything else you want to let us know here at TRS.
I'd like to use our first blog post to tell you a little bit about our company. We are locally owned and operated. We are also woman owned and operated. Our President Karen McFarland has over 15 years of experience in the staffing industry and she is very involved in day to day operations. (Even when I try to shoo her out of the office, she just goes to our other location or visits clients, the woman doesn't stop!) We have two office locations. Our headquarters is located at 11925 E 65th Street, Indianapolis and our Westside office is at 5450 Lafayette Road, Indianapolis. With 2 offices so far apart we are able to successfully staff and manage accounts anywhere in the the Indianapolis area and surrounding areas.In our Eastside location we have a receptionist that is here to answer the phones and talk to employees, taking down their questions and concerns so that we can get back to them. She also takes applications from new and potential employees. She has only been with us for less than a week so I am still training her on the system. She shows great potential though. We also have our Business Development person here. She is also new to the company and soon will not be in the office much but for now she is here making phone calls and doing research, as she gets used to the position she will be out on the road more reaching out to new clients and establishing business relationships. I am also in the Eastside office a lot of the times. I am the Indianapolis Area Manager. Fairly new to the company myself, I am usually traveling between offices, meeting employees at new assignments, making cold calls for new clients, making lunch appointments and trying to get into as many seminars and conferences as I can to expand my knowledge of the industry and make new contacts. (Which reminds me, you can find me on LinkedIn, Twitter, and Facebook) In our Westside office we have our two Bi-Lingual Staffing Specialist. These girls really know how to find the employees we need and get them into the positions we need filled. They are very knowledgable and extremely helpful. One of them is always there to answer the phone or greet employees at the door with a smile and help them out in whatever way they can. They are eager to be of assistance.
That pretty much sums up our staff here at TRS. Let me take just a second and breifly tell you about us as a company.   Pretty nice mission statement huh?
But this blog isn't JUST for clients and potential clients. This is also for employees and potential employees. I will be giving you the tools you need to successfully get through the interview process, information on new and current positions that we are trying to fill, and updates on when to come to the office to speak to us in person.
